3rd International diabetic foot conference to address global challenges
The 3rd International Diabetic Foot conference will be held in Dubai on 9–10 November, 2012 and aims to address the global challenges posed by foot problems linked to diabetes.
The conference will address the challenges clinicians face in treating the condition, such as infection, pressure offloading, vascular assessment, nutrition and surgical revascularisation. It will also touch upon the experiences of clinicians who have treated diabetic feet in different regions including Oman, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
'This 3rd conference aims to address the growing global healthcare challenge posed by diabetes-related limb amputations in an evidence-informed, patient -focused and interdisciplinary forum,' said Head of Plastic Surgery and
Wound Care at Rashid Hospital, Dubai and Conference Chair, Dr Marwan Al Zarouni. 'This is a promising time to create awareness and expand our horizons through translational medicine.'
Dr. David Armstrong, Professor of Surgery and Director of the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at University of Arizona, USA, has been announced as the Keynote Speaker.
