<p>Lymphoedema management of the head and neck is a valuable, yet under-recognised, area of practice. The author has embarked on a recent study trip to examine head and neck lymphoedema practices in the UK and USA, in comparison to those in Australia. Visits were conducted to established, hospital-based lymphoedema clinics in six major UK centres and two major US centres. A high degree of variability was observed in head and neck lymphoedema management practices. This article aims to document various assessment and treatment approaches for head and neck lymphoedema to improve awareness of the condition, to highlight the need for routine assessment, and outline the treatment modalities available.</p>
