Template for practice: Compression hosiery in upper body lymphoedema
Much of the emphasis in the field of compression has been on the lower limb. This Template for Practice is unique in attempting to provide an international resource that provides guidance on the appropriate use of compression garments for the upper body.
Lymphoedema is a major, international healthcare problem in both developed and developing countries. Compression hosiery is at the centre of long-term management of lymphoedema and is one of the most important aspects of care that helps patients to take greater control of their condition.
This template follows on from the first Template for Practice document, Compression hosiery in lymphoedema that recognised the central role that compression garments play in the treatment of lower limb lymphoedema. Together they provide a comprehensive, yet practical guide for practitioners who are managing patients with lymphoedema. French, German, Spanish and Italian editions will soon be available.
